Mindful Digital Reset
Gen Z reclaims focus and balance through digital minimalism
Silverstone will stage a Formula 1 sprint race in 2026, returning to the format it last hosted in 2021. The British Grand Prix is among six events set to feature sprints next season, alongside China, Miami, Canada, Singapore, and the Netherlands. The inclusion of Singapore comes as a surprise due to its narrow, street-circuit layout, which makes overtaking difficult. F1 has maintained the number of sprint weekends at six for 2026, citing the added demands of new chassis and engine regulations.
F1 president Stefano Domenicali said the format boosts fan engagement by adding “four competitive sessions rather than two,” increasing action and revenue for hosts. Discussions continue about expanding sprints to as many as 12 races from 2027, potentially with modified formats, including reverse grids. The 2026 calendar features 24 races, including a new event in Madrid alongside Barcelona, which may later rotate with Belgium. Future hosts in contention for rotation include Germany, Portugal, and Turkey, while Thailand is exploring a Bangkok race from 2028.
