A major breakthrough is emerging in gynecological cancer treatment. Drugmaker GSK has reported strong early trial results for its experimental therapy Mo-Rez, which showed significant tumor reduction in patients with hard-to-treat ovarian and endometrial cancers. In trials, about 62% of ovarian cancer patients and 67% of endometrial cancer patients experienced tumor shrinkage or elimination, even in cases resistant to chemotherapy. Researchers say the drug targets cancer cells more precisely while limiting damage to healthy tissue, and it is now being fast-tracked into larger late-stage trials.
At the same time, another experimental cancer treatment (relacorilant combined with chemotherapy) has shown improved survival rates for ovarian cancer patients, cutting death risk by around 35% in a major clinical study. This adds to growing momentum in targeted and combination therapies that aim to extend survival with fewer side effects.
In another development, biotech company Gilead Sciences is expanding its cancer pipeline by acquiring German firm Tubulis for up to $5 billion, strengthening its focus on antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) therapies a rapidly growing area in precision oncology.
Researchers also highlight a broader shift in 2026 cancer science toward immunotherapy, gene editing, and personalized medicine, with new clinical trials exploring CAR-T cells and genetic engineering approaches to treat solid tumors more effectively
