Emily Blunt Jabs Anne Hathaway’s Eyebrows in New Devil Wears Prada 2 Trailer

A new trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 dropped on Sunday, Feb. 1, reuniting Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci nearly 20 years after the original film’s release. Released by 20th Century Studios, the 30-second first look shows the iconic characters crossing paths again, with sharp wit firmly intact. In one standout moment, Blunt’s Emily Charlton delivers a playful dig at Hathaway’s Andy Sachs, saying, “You’ve changed. You’re much more confident. You kept those eyebrows, though, didn’t you?”

The studio teased the trailer on Instagram earlier in the day, writing simply, “Trailer tonight. That’s all.” The sequel follows Miranda Priestly (Streep) as she navigates her career during the decline of traditional magazine publishing, while facing off against Emily, now a powerful executive at a luxury group controlling crucial advertising dollars, according to Variety. Alongside the core cast, the film also stars Kenneth Branagh, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet and others. Original director David Frankel and writer Aline Brosh McKenna return to continue the story set in the world of Runway magazine.

Speaking about reprising her role, Blunt said the sequel carries deep emotional meaning. “It’s not just doing a movie,” she previously told PORTER magazine. “It has deep emotional roots for a lot of us.”

The Devil Wears Prada 2 hits theaters on May 1.
